General terms and conditions for bike rental

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR BIKE RENTAL

“Equipment Rental Service” is provided by Mix. The rental terms and conditions are an integral part of the rental contract. By accepting the general terms and conditions, the customer confirms that they have read and fully accepted the rental terms.

1. Equipment Pickup

The customer shall pick up the equipment in good working condition. Any complaints regarding the equipment must be reported to Mix at the time of equipment pickup.

2. Equipment Return

The customer is responsible for returning the equipment to Mix at the end of the defined rental period and during the specified opening hours. The equipment, along with all accessories provided by Mix (helmets, etc.), must be returned to Mix in impeccable condition. If the renter has lost or damaged any accessories, they will be charged for them.

3. Customer’s Commitment

The customer agrees to take care of the equipment entrusted to them and not to damage it.

The customer agrees to use the equipment prudently and declares that they are capable of using the provided bicycle and have a physical condition suitable for the reserved activity.

The customer confirms that they are familiar with the traffic rules and agrees to abide by them, as well as any safety guidelines provided by Mix regarding the use of the bicycle.

4. Minimum Age of the Customer

The customer must be of legal age.

5. Insurance

Insurance is the responsibility of the customer. By signing the rental contract, the customer confirms that they have adequately covered the risks associated with the use of the equipment. The equipment is not insured against theft and breakage.

6. Helmets

An approved helmet is provided free of charge.

7. Customer’s Responsibility

The customer is solely responsible for their actions on public roads. Mix cannot be held responsible for any accidents resulting from the customer’s behavior or that of a third party.

Mix disclaims all liability for any damages incurred by the customer or any other person during the bicycle rental, except in cases of intentional misconduct by Mix.

All fines or penalties resulting from the customer’s use of the bicycles or their behavior on public roads are the customer’s sole responsibility. In the event of damage due to an accident, loss, theft, or improper handling of the equipment, the renter is responsible for the repair costs. In the case of total damage or loss, the renter is responsible for the replacement value of the equipment.

8. Security Deposit

The rental company requests a credit card imprint and an identification document as a security deposit against loss, theft, or damage to the equipment.

9. Applicable Law

This contract is subject to Belgian law.
